Abstract:

In this thesis detailed analysis of image invariants and their application to character recognition is made. The invariants based on moments were introduced to computer vision in 1962 by Hu. They have found numerous applications in character and image recognition, texture characterization, fingerprint identification, etc.The main contribution of the thesis is an attempt to approach to the problem by applying nice mathematical apparatures of the group theory and projective geometry. |
