Extension of maintenance interval of suction rolls

Abstract

AB3:Tarkoituksena oli tutkia imutelojen huoltoa erään paperitehtaan kunnossapidon näkökulmasta. Työn sisältö jakautui neljään osaan: imutelojen huoltovälien pidentäminen, imutelojen vaihtokriteerien määrittäminen, imutelojen huoltoketjun kehittäminen sekä imutelojen dokumentoinnin parantaminen. Imutelojen ja niiden huollon edelleen kehittämiseksi työssä on esitetty myös lukuisa joukko erilaisia teknisiä parannusideoita. Lisäksi työn aikana syntyi muutamia oivalluksia imutelojen jäljellä olevien ongelmien eliminoimiseksi.

On a paper machine suction rolls are used to remove water from the wet web and strengthen the sheet as much as possible before it enters the dryer section. The body of the suction roll is in the form of a perforated shell, with a stationary suction box in contact with its inside surface. Vacuum is maintained in the suction box and an area of the shell, corresponding to the width of the open top of the suction box, is brought under the influence of the vacuum as the shell rotates over the box. - The purpose of the thesis was to analyze performance of suction rolls from the perspective of paper mill maintenance.
