Drilled pile execution by dual fluid system

Abstract

The aim of this study has been to supervise drilled pile execution and to gather experiences from both the contractor side and the manufacturer side to make this product well-known and accepted by main clients as well. This study shall also be as part of the basis for first Finnish Codes for Drilled Piles, which should be ready in 2001.The content of this study follows nearly to that of becoming Drilled Pile Codes. In the beginning of this study, suitable application, areas for drilled piles are presented. Then, after presenting site investigations, drilled pile terms and pilling equipment are illustrated. Also basis for designing of drilled piles is presented. Execution of drilled pile is handled quite detailed. Supervision, monitoring and piling documents are also presented in this study.Finally reports from actual piling sites are presented. One of them is from Turku, where this new DFS has been used in underpinning piling. Two of them are railway bridges, where drilled piles are used. /Kir10
