Abstract: The purpose of this thesis is to identify and eliminate the root causes of quality problems on a basic product part. Experiments were designed of some basilar hypothesis and data, which the research was based on, was collected during these designed experiments. The validity of the hypothesis was tested by statistical methods, observations and measurement results collected. The author reports that the turning phase affects most to the product quality. In phase discussed, four items can be turned simultaneously on the lathe. The author summarizes that by analyzing the data from this experiment, the root causes will be revealed. Desired quality confidence will be gained once root causes are defined and eliminated.
