This thesis handles modelling of Dynamic Random Access Memories (DRAMs) with an executable simulator, which eases estimation for this memory type. DRAMs are more and more often the bottleneck of digital systems. The fundamental problem associated with DRAM is that its access time is heavily dependent on the state of the memory and the address of the memory reference. On the other hand, an object oriented programming language provides a convenient way to model this kind of behaviour. The implemented is based on this. At the latter part of this thesis, some intelligent ways to use DRAMs are explored. These methods improve the practical speed of DRAMs. /Kir10 |
