| Abstract: | In a virtual reality system the user stays as an observer if no tracking is used. A tracking system allows the user to be made a part of the virtual world and the immersion is increased dramatically. This study was motivated after experiences of existing systems which showed poor usability especially in a multi-screen visualization system. The built tracking system generates magnetic field using audio amplifier and a resonating LC-circuit. The field is detected with a small air-core coil and amplified to suit the input of the analog to digital conversion which had severe problem with noise due to be bad circuit and PCB design. Also the operation principle turned out to be partly inadequate for the system. /Kir10 |
