Flow properties and consistency profiles of pulp suspension

Abstract

This thesis is aimed at determined the influence factors on the tendency of consistency profiles in cross section of pipes. To accomplish this, the general flow properties of pulp suspension in pipes were reviewed in this thesis. Influence of fibre characteristics on flow behaviour, pipe friction loss, flow regimes, and velocity profiles were discussed. Various influence factors on the tendency of consistency profiles in cross section of pipes were generalized through the analysis of the measurement results. The types of pulp suspension studied through the analysis of the measurement results. The types of pulp suspension studied were TMP, softwood bleached Kraft, and machine stock. /Kir10
