Agency construction management as a building procurement option, a strategy for selecting procurement methods of construction projects

Abstract

AB3:Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on selvittää mitä mahdollisuuksia on olemassa Construction Management (projektinjohtourakka) hankemuodon käytölle Kaukoidässä (Filippiinit), missä perinteinen kokonaisurakkamenettely on yhä laajalti käytössä.- Tutkimus käsittelee strategiaa, kuinka valita oikea hankkeen toteutustapa tiettyyn projektiin. Tutkimus tarkastelee myös valittujen hankemuotojen yleisiä piirteitä sekä projektiin osallistuvien avainhenkilöiden tehtäviä. Johtopäätelmät hankemuodon valinnasta on esitetty yhteenvetona taulukkomuodossa antaen suuntaviivat hankemuodon valinnalle tiettyjen projektiehtojen täyttyessä.- Tarvittavat lähtötiedot tutkimusta varten on kerätty postikyselyn avulla.

The research objective is to study what possibilities exist for the use of the Construction Management (CM) building procurement method in the Far East (Philippines) where the traditional general contracting method is still widely used.- The study deals with a strategy of selecting a procurement method for the projects. It discusses the common features of the method, key participants of the project and the conclusions have been summarized in order to give guidelines in selecting the appropriate procurement method.- The necessary data for the research was gathered through a mail survey, i.e. a questionnaire.
