Abstract: The study focuses on observing business logic in the pulp and paper industry and on analysing the effects of the new economy on this industry. This study aims at defining the effects of the new economy on traditional industries in general and then mirroring the effects and opportunities on the business logic in the pulp and paper industry. The results of the study indicate that the pulp and paper industry is not rushing into e-business along with the others. There also occur different opinions of whether the industry is going to move on the Internet at all. The future of the pulp and paper industry is based on the demand of paper. The industry is very confident of the success in the future. In addition, the industry does not feel any pressure while at the same time the information and communication technology creates fear among employees. /Kir10
