| Abstract: | This thesis is a review of background concepts related to automating software testing of reactive systems. Testing is understood as an activity of executing a test subject and comparing its observed behaviour to a specification in order to find behaviour which deviates from the specification. Specifications are represented as formal mathematical objects, which makes it possible to define precisely what behaviours are acceptable and which are erroneous. The thesis also discusses methods for tracking the coverage of the tests and a possible architecture for a software tool to be used in automated testing./Kir10 |
