Abstract: The thesis reports the task of creating a model of an electrodynamic loudspeaker, for application as a real-time model of a given sound source. "Model" shall be understood as a mathematical representation of a system, and "modelling" as the process of obtaining the required information from the system under study, and using it to describe the physical system dynamics. Most of the previous research work in loudspeaker modelling has been performed to this end. However, this was not the aim of the thesis. Here, the interest lies in obtaining a virtual loudspeaker that will behave perceptually in a similar way as the physical loudspeaker. In principle, it is desired that the model covers all the possible non-linearities, which makes the modelling task quite complicated. It was also desired that the modelling process could be applied generically to different loudspeakers. To accomplish the goal, the thesis reviewed some known system identification techniques. /Kir10
