Narrowband and partial band interference can seriously degrade the signal received from the GPS or Galileo satellites. In this thesis the author discusses the effect of the narrowband interference in the Galileo system and also tests and presents some methods to cancel it. Four different methods to deal with the narrowband interface were simulated and compared in terms of the narrowband interface rejection capability. The complexity of these algorithms was analyzed in order to better understand performance versus complexity trade-off. A general overview of the Galileo system was also included, considering all the stages from the transmitter to the receiver end. The results demonstrate that the applied methods are very useful to deal with narrowband interface by reducing it effectively, even using methods with low complexity. /Kir09 |
