Engineering method development in delivery projects

Abstract

In this thesis a new engineering method and a tool is developed and introduced in executing IQSteamPro delivery projects at target company. Different people involved in executing projects see the project success differently. If the project execution methods are complicated and difficult, the project engineers have to work extra hard to achieve the same success criteria the project managers use to define a successful project. For projects execution to be effective and even quality, project parts were standardized as far as possible still leaving room for customers` special requirements. The result from using the new engineering method are very good.

Tässä opinnäytetyössä kehitetään ja otetaan käyttöön uusi suunnittelumenetelmä ja työkalu IQSteamPro. Kyseessä on toimitusprojektien toteutus kohdeyrityksessä. Jos projektin suunnittelumenetelmät ovat monimutkaisia ja vaikeita, projekti-insinööreillä on täysi työ projektien toteuttamisessa, jotta he pääsisivät samoihin onnistumisen kriteereihin kuin projektipäälliköt. Jotta projekteja voitaisiin toteuttaa tehokkaasti ja tasalaatuisesti, niin työssä projektien osat standardoitiin mahdollisimman pitkälle, silti jättäen tilaa asiakkaiden erityistarpeille. Tulokset uuden suunnittelumenetelmän käyttöönotosta ovat hyvät. /Kir09
