Abstract: This work was carried out at the Mechanics and Design Department of Tampere University of Technology. The primary purpose was to develop a real-time environment for a mobile machine. The thesis describes the process of the integration of a real-time simulating environment with Matlab. A mobile machine – loader equipment is modeled with SimMechanics and this model is built for running on the xPC Target which is a real time environment provided by Matlab. UDP were used to send and obtain the data, like position, velocity, acceleration and angle, between the host PC and the target PC. Finally this system is visualized in a Platform which is developed by Laboratory of Virtual Technology in TUT. The idea of this project is to develop a virtual reality environment by using Matlab in real-time. Also new ideas for improving the simulator and directions of further research were obtained with the help of this research.
