AVACK INFOSHOW-ohjelman suunnittelu ja toteutus Symbian OS-laitteella

Abstract

AVACK INFO -informaatiojärjestelmä on jo useiden vuosien ajan ollut käytössä monissa yrityksissä ja yhteisöissä. Järjestelmä toimii Microsoft Windows -ympäristössä sekä käyttää tiedon levittämisessä hyväkseen tietoverkkoja ja TV-antenniverkkoja. Tässä diplomityössä toteutettiin ensimmäinen vaihe informaatiojärjestelmän laajentamisesta käytettäväksi mobiililaitteilla. Työhön kuului ensin Nokia 9210 Communicator -laitteeseen ja siinä käytettävään Symbian OS -käyttöjärjestelmään tutustuminen niin, että tähän ympäristöön voidaan kehittää sovellusohjelmia. Tämän jälkeen työssä määriteltiin, suunniteltiin ja toteutettiin tiedonesitysohjelma AVACK INFOSHOW kyseiselle alustalle. Sovellus esittää olemassa olevalla informaatiojärjestelmällä tuotettua tietoa. Työssä oli oleellista suunnitella ohjelmisto helposti laajennettavaksi ja mahdollisimman helposti myöhemmin siirrettäväksi muihin laiteympäristöihin. Toteutettu ohjelma toimii määrittelynsä mukaisesti, ja sille asetetut tavoitteet saavutettiin hyvin. Ohjelma on ensimmäistä kertaa todellisessa käyttötilanteessa kesäkuussa 2002 Tampere-talossa järjestettävässä IAEC 2002 -koulutuskonferenssissa, jossa valikoidut vieraat voivat sen avulla käyttää erilaisia konferenssiin liittyviä sisältöpalveluja. /Kir10

AVACK INFO information system has been in use in various companies and organizations for many years. The system is running on Microsoft Windows, and it utilizes computer networks and TV antenna networks to spread the information.This thesis is a description of the first phase of incorporating the information system to mobile devices. It consists of getting familiar with the Nokia 9210 Communicator device and the Symbian OS operating system used in it, so that developing applications on the platform is possible. After this the AVACK INFOSHOW presentation application is specified, designed and implemented on the platform. The application shows the information produced using the existing information system. The essential part of the thesis was to design the application to be easily expandable and as portable to other mobile devices as possible.The implemented application is functioning according to its specification, and the goals have been accomplished well. The first real-life use of the application will be in the IAEC 2002 conference held in the Tampere Hall in June 2002. Pre-selected conference guests will be able to use the application to access various conference-related information services.
